This list supplies students with links to different archaeological sites, categorized geographically, that they can use as references. Different activities can be developed around the bibliography.
I've Never Heard of That! An Internet Sampler about Food--
The purpose of this Web activity is to give students a sampling of some of aspects of food. Each of the activities includes a link and some activities the students can do with each page. They can complete the Internet activities alone or in groups. They can do all or only some of the activities depending on your goals. It gives students reading and writing practice, and if they work in groups, oral practice too.
New York, New York: A Virtual Vacation Treasure Hunt
This is an activity that is best done in pairs or groups. Students read the situation and then answer the questions. Finally they plan their vacation in New York. It gives students reading and writing practice, and if they work in groups, oral practice too.
A Soccer Collage
In this task, students work together in groups to design a scrapbook about soccer using the suggested sites. They can do their scrapbooks in a word processing program or even Power Point. Or they can print it out and post it at school or write it in a class newspaper. This gives students reading, writing and oral practice.
